Willem Willemsz Van Der Vliet

Willem Willemsz Van Der Vliet (1583/84 - 1642) was active/lived in Netherlands.  Willem Van Der Vliet is known for Portrait, history, genre and allegorical subject painting of Golden Age.

Willem van der Vliet (c. 1584 – 6 December 1642 was a Dutch Golden Age painter. He was born and died in Delft, Holland. According to art historian, Houbraken, his paintings are historical allegories and portraits.

He had his nephew Hendrick Cornelisz. van Vliet as his pupil, who painted historical scenes in architectural perspectives, but who later went to work for Michiel Jansz van Mierevelt to learn to paint portraits.
